There is a special way to discover the Cilento : follow the coast and let yourself be guided by scent of the sea , come on small ports , give it fishing boats and come on villages which seem to arise directly from the water. From Agropoli to Poplars , passing through Santa Maria di Castellabate , San Marco , Ogliastro Marina , San Nicola a Mare , Agnone Cilento and Acciaroli , the coast tells of an authentic Mediterranean, made up of landscapes, traditions and communities deeply linked to the sea. A succession of different locations, but united by the same one seafaring soul .

The journey can start from Agropoli , one of the gateways to Cilento. The ancient village, perched on the promontory, overlooks the sea from above , while the coastal part develops between the port, the seafront and the beaches. It is a perfect destination to start breathing the cilento atmosphere , Between walks on the sea , sunsets and panoramas that embrace the coast

Continuing south you come across Santa Maria di Castellabate , overlooking a stretch of coast where the sea meets historic buildings , beaches and scenic walks . The territory of Castellabate includes various seaside resorts and offers a particularly varied landscape, including beaches, headlands and coves. It is located not far away San Marco of Castellabate , characterized by its small port and from cozy atmosphere . Here the relationship with the sea is perceived by walking along the coast or stopping on the pier, observing the boats and the continuous movement of the water. It's u not of those places where the journey naturally invites you to slow down .

The coast continues towards Ogliastro Marina , where the landscape takes on a more intimate and Mediterranean character. The presence of mediterranean scrub , from the beaches and of clear waters makes this location an ideal stopover for those seeking more direct contact with nature and want to experience the sea away from the frenetic pace.

Going further down the coast you arrive at San Nicola a Mare , in the territory of Montecorice . It is a small town overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, where the size of the village and the coastal landscape create a simple and authentic atmosphere . The beaches and the bays of the territory are part of a coast characterized by the alternation of sandy stretches and wilder views.

The journey continues until Agnone Cilento , a small marina in the municipality of Montecorice . Its connection with the sea has its roots in the history of the Cilento coast: still in Nineteenth century Agnone was one of the landing places used by local communities . Today it retains the charm of a cozy location , ideal for those looking sea, tranquility and Mediterranean landscapes .

Then it arrives Acciaroli , one of the best-known seaside villages in Cilento . The port , The seafront and the houses overlooking the sea they tell of a place that has managed to maintain its character while becoming one of the most loved destinations on the coast . It's pleasant here walk without haste , stop for an aperitif , or observe the boats in the port or reach the beach when the sun begins to go down .

The last stage is Poplars , small seaside village in the municipality of Pollica and place deeply linked to the history of the Mediterranean Diet . Here the sea meets the culture of well-being , gastronomic tradition and a landscape that invites you to live slowly . Walk along the seafront , discover the village and stop to taste the local cuisine means coming into contact with one of the most authentic expressions of the Cilento identity .

These villages tell a story Cilento made of sea and land , fishermen and farmers , ports and alleys , traditions and flavors .
